She was always dubbed on screen because, while she sang on Broadway, her singing voice was very earthy and belty, not at all like the glamorous, but still lovely girl-next-door image the studios cultivated for her.

But, if they had allowed her to use her real voice, she would have made a smashing Ado Annie in "Oklahoma!" There are some tracks from "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" where she sounds a bit like an Ado Annie.

Also a clip of her singing with Ray Bolger on his tv show revealed a pleasant voice (granted she was singing after doing tons of her incredible dancing).
