If a lot of the audience was theatre-savvy, then many of them were probably long-time theatregoers who've already seen Cumming in the role (possibly more than once) and might want to be the first on their block to see Williams, Emond and Burstein so they can tell their friends and post on chat boards and Facebook about those performances. And they might like the idea of seeing someone as the Emcee who may become a performer of note.
