Thanks, Alan. I can always count on you to argue the opposite of whatever point I'm trying to make.

Everything you say is correct. I was only suggesting some reasons why the Roundabout might have decided to cancel the show outright, rather than put on an understudy. This was partly in response to your comment that, in this case, one might have expected there would have been more opportunity than usual to rehearse an understudy, since Cumming has played this same role in this same basic production many, many times.
