Interesting! But I'm not sure people here were "fretting," merely discussing whether or not it would have been reasonable to expect that an understudy would be ready to go on at this stage of the game, and whether or not it was surprising that last night's show was canceled outright.

Does anyone know if a rehearsal with the understudy was held instead of the performance last night? At any rate, the fact that he went on today indicates that it was not, after all, so strange to think that he might have been prepared to go on last night.
