Andre's Mother

Posted by: Ann 06:51 pm EDT 03/29/14

Just watched the DVD from Netflix. She is one mother who doesn't budge - same in 1992 as she is when she walks into the scene in the present play. That must have been a miserable 20 some years.

Sada Thompson and Tyne Daly seem to really portray the same woman, although they're close to the same age in each piece, when now she should be quite a bit older than Daly. I've forgotten if Mothers and Sons is supposed to be 2014; it seems I remember them saying 20 years had passed, but I don't really remember (the original play was 1988, American Playhouse 1990, I think).

Is it said in Mothers and Sons that he's living in the same apartment he and Andre lived in, because the sets look similar.
