haha. you always make me laugh, and considering that I came upstate thinking today would be the perfect day to do yard work, I don't have much to laugh about. I agree that Broadway is paved with the stories of understudy heroics, but it is nonetheless worth remembering that shows do not come together through magic, and even quick studies have to discover what they are doing at some point, and people who have to do things together have to learn enough to do so safely. What these folks did this afternoon (assuming that we don't find out that the wheels came off the truck) deserves our admiration, but we are not entitled to presume that they were obliged to make this happen, because they were not. That said, can you imagine the thrill this must have been for this young man who might reasonably have never gotten this moment. And now he can aspire to follow in Ms. Wilkes's (hopefully no relation to Mr. Booth) footsteps.
