McKellen may have gotten slightly better notices in ''No Man's Land,'' but without taking anything away from this amazing actor, McKellen's got the showier part.

In an interview with Playbill, Stewart explained that he had to convince McKellen to do the Pinter play: ''I had always imagined I would play the flashy role, the one played by John Gielgud.'' But he says he came to the sad realization that the part was better suited to McKellen.

Stewart teases McKellen: ''I hope you might mention this come the Tony Awards. 'I have my friend Patrick Stewart to thank ...''
