Harlequin Romances don't exactly sound like something a theatre savvy crowd would want to see.

The source material and it's tepid reviews gave this show an uphill battle to begin with. The musical needed rave reviews to put it on the map.

I'm trying to catch up with it for the score because I'm a fan but it keeps falling lower and lower on my priority list. Nothing worse than hoping a show surprises you and doesn't waste your time and money.

Everyone on this board seems to have been "surprised" but not many followed that surprise up with a rave. Faint praise.
