I get the same reactions on 'Rocky'

- It' funny the reactions I get when I tell friends that I will be seeing Rocky the Musical. The looks range from WTF?? to "are you kidding me?" to "say that again?" I've been hearing much the same from the beginning. And you can add in responding with laughter at the very mention of "Rocky: as a musical. If the show should fail -- which is unclear yet and hopefully won't for the sake of all concerned -- the reason I think will come down to the attitude about this property that you describe. -
