I Was Skeptical at First

But I was surprised to find more to like in ROCKY than I'd have suspected. It may not have the strongest Ahrens-Flaherty score I've ever heard, but there are a couple of gems, especially Margo Seibert's "Raining," and Andy Karl is very appealing as the title character, warts and all. Danny Mastrogiorgio is always fun to watch. And of course the stagecraft is eye-popping. One could do a lot worse.
