The performers are making more money with this production

Pay at the Public, and all non-profit off Broadway runs, is fairly low. The gigs are prestigious, but not lucrative.

This is a commercial production. I know for a fact that performers are making more money now- much more in line with what they should be making for a commercial run. And this has to raise the ticket price.

For those who care, to describe this production as making the audience "stand around dancing for 80 minutes" is pretty misinformed. You stand for most of the show, but there is one long section at the end where you can sit. And of course, you can choose to get actual seats. And as for moving around all the time, you don't have to do this either. I was able to find a place that was fairly out of the way of traffic patterns and hung out there for most of the show.

This all started because someone was aghast that they would have to check their coat. Seriously? Wait a month and it will be warm enough to come without one.
