First of all, plays don't have musical numbers (which is what Ann was suggesting there needs to be more of), but I understand your point. My counter-question is:

How?

Over the years they've tried various ways (video clips of scenes, live performances, monologues, etc) and they've always come out awkwardly because the live performances rarely translate on screen the way film clips do and out of context the scenes either make no sense or seem overly dramatic because you can't cut things together the way you would a film.

But they always do something to promote the plays, either thru presenters, montages or descriptions.
