It is a fact that some understudies have gone on without rehearsal. It is also a fact that all roles are not equal. It is not a fact that what you have described is "all an understudy has to do." It is a fact that I find that statement by someone who purports to know whereof they speak fucking scary. Cutting corners is dangerous; being cocky is dangerous; and promoting laxness is dangerous. I would not want you around my show. And that's all I have to say on this subject.
