Pippin:in AMAZING shape.

Saw the mat. Today. Patina and Matthew final perfs. The show is even better now than it was a year ago. Far more nuanced. The damn stupid book is now quite touching. Lots of producer in the house: Barry Weissler, Hugh Hayes, Howard Kagan, were the ones spotted. Rachel Bay Jones is just astonishing. Potts is fine. Very emotional performance. Many tears at the curtain of course.Noticed two people arguing with scalper. Watched to see what the tix to sold out perf. Went for....A staggering $400. I enjoyed this a year ago. Not much more.Today I absolutely fell Iin love with this production. Just so smart and intellengent are Paulus 's choices. A truly brilliant production. I think this will run another 4-5 years. The Weissler magic has not even started to kick in regarding casting, 2nd year marketing strategies, etc. This will be a fun one to watch.
