While most shows are not overtly political, the general world view of most major shows is one direction. But I am not sure that is affecting ticket sales all that much. It might be a loss for the historians a century from now that the great theatrical literature is often ideologically redundant. But even still, I doubt the future will look to Broadway shows to see into society's soul for our times anyway. They will watch Youtube.
