Joshua Henry, Joshua Henry, Joshua Henry!

Saw Violet last night. Tremendous performance. Sutton is truly amazing. And Joshua Henry stops the show with his amazing set of pipes. Truly rocked the joint. Loved the show. Special kudos to Annie Golden who does a great job playing several roles (is it just me or does she now really resemble the late, great Pert Kelton? I met her years ago and didn't notice that then).

Agreed! Saw the first preview on Friday and really enjoyed the performances. Both Sutton Foster and Joshua Henry were incredible. I wasn't familiar with the show at all and really enjoyed it. It was interesting to hear some musical motifs that resembled things we'd be hearing from Tesori later on in Caroline, or Change and even Fun Home. Sutton Foster's range as an actress is truly impressive.

Highly recommend.

Was also here on Friday night and as I posted Sat, truly a terrific show - book, score, performances - most notably Foster and Henry.

Saw it yesterday, having never seen a prior production or hearing the score. I was bowled over especially by Sutton Foster -- aside from being a talented singer, she is really a very good actress -- and Justin Henry, whose powerful tones I haven't heard since THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS. I liked how the scar is left to the audience's imagination.
