I spoke with PS Classics' Tommy Krasker. He said when he saw a run-through of Violet two weeks ago, then studied the current script and score and determined what he wanted to record, the recording edition came in at about 85 minutes. He asked Jeanine Tesori how they squeezed the score onto one disc originally, and she said there were quite a few cuts
made on the original album. Plus, there is new material in this production, but it's not clear what and how much.

He didn't want to cut any music - except for a handful of applause breaks, the score is pretty much continuous, and he wants to reflect that on disc, so they're going with a two-disc set.

Note that the set is priced $15.95 at our website, which is what they
charge for single-disc cast albums.
