Interesting.

I'd have added PAL JOEY (which integrated dance and the "dream ballet" to further story and character before OKLAHOMA! and was the first to focus on an anti-hero lead, not to mention one of the first roles where a woman was allowed to controlled her own fate rather than be led by a man.)

Also, while they recognize CABARET as an example of the "concept" musical, a strong case can be made for ALLEGRO which truly broke ground and I'd make room for COMPANY on this list given that it took the concept form to another level.

I'm also not sure IN THE HEIGHTS was all that groundbreaking. One could also point to shows like THE CAPEMAN or SARAFINA for also bringing other musical forms to the stage, albeit less effectively.) Does PROMISES PROMISES also belong on the list for bringing contemporary "pop" (as oppose to the "rock" sound of say, HAIR) to the stage? But at it's core, IN THE HEIGHTS really doesn't break too far from form. (I'd probably not include CAROUSEL for this same reason, sans the inclusion of the famous "bench scene" which did break new ground.)

Still, an interesting list.
