  • Broadway grosses totaled $29,088,089 last week for 35 shows, compared to $26,493,585 for 32 shows the prior week.



  • ON CASTING A BANKABLE STAR:

    -- ‘Les Miz Factor’ in Les Misérables -- $1,223,317
    -- Genie in Aladdin -- $1,104,798
    -- Denzel Washington in A Raisin in the Sun -- $1,045,534
    -- Carly Rae Jepsen in Cinderella -- $1,012,922
    -- Idina Menzel in If/Then -- $1,002,321 (7 performances)
    -- Bryan Cranston in All the Way -- $949,056
    -- James Franco in Of Mice and Men -- $868,728 
     -- Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch -- $144,194 for a single sold-out preview.



  • NOT DOING WELL:

    -- Mothers and Sons struggling, grossing $228,669 at 30% of potential.
    -- The Bridges of Madison County $352,896 which is 35% of potential.
    -- Rocky did improve, however, by $28,969 to $828,848 or 56% of its potential.



  • No Man’s Land/Waiting for Godot, starring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, closed Sunday at the Cort Theatre, having earlier recouped its investment. Cumulative grosses for 31 previews and 141 performances (both plays) totaled $14,346,510 at an average ticket price of about $90.
