It's interesting that plays and musicals are often adapted from films, but rarely -- never? -- from television shows. Has there ever been a TV show made into a Broadway production? Is there some difference between how films and TV shows are created and structured that makes one medium easier to adapt than others? Given TV's reach you'd think producers would see the value in putting on stage characters and situations that are known by the masses. Or maybe there's the issue: TV characters are too exposed already.
