Building on Slant Theatre Project’s success with last season’s The Steadfast, the company has announced the full cast for The Cloud, a world premiere mistaken-identity comedy written by playwright/comedian Matt Moses. Wes Grantom (Eager to Lose, The Steadfast) directs a cast of four including Teddy Bergman (B’way: Peter and the Starcatcher, Off-B’way: Sex Lives of Our Parents), Ryan King (Now Or Later at Huntington Theatre, The Intelligent Design Of Jenny Chow at the Atlantic Theater Company), Polly Lee (Marie Antoinette at Yale Rep, Wasps at Studio 42), and Emily Walton (Eager to Lose, August: Osage County). Performances for this first full production of Slant Theatre Project's 10th Season will be staged at HERE, 145 Sixth Avenue in NYC from May 16-June 1, 2014.

Four people get lost in the forest of social media in this raucous farce exploring changing notions of privacy and intimacy in this age of over-sharing. Written by improv and Comedy Central vet Matt Moses (Daniella Uses Dirty Words, UCB's "The Law Firm"), The Cloud fuses the wilds of the internet with Shakespearean romance to conjure a theatrical landscape in which all the www is a stage.

In The Cloud, Chris, a set designer, is gunning for a job designing a major production of As You Like It. His girlfriend Katie is an app designer who gets her first big break with a very revealing app called “Show Me Yours.” Enter Katie’s ex-boyfriend, Greg, a personal trainer who’s ready to end his philandering and get married, and Greg’s client Sandy, a career-obsessed costume designer who decides to spice things up by having a fling with a younger man.

Wes Grantom (director): Eager to Lose by Matthew-Lee Erlbach (Ars Nova), The Steadfast by Mat Smart, Mine by Bekah Brunstetter (Slant Theatre Project), Clybourne Park (Premiere Stages). Broadway as Associate Director: Act One, Annie, Brief Encounter, Waiting for Godot, Les Liaisons Dangereuse. Wes has also worked at Williamstown, the Atlantic, Lincoln Center, the Alley, Roundabout, La Jolla Playhouse, the Alliance, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Asolo Rep, George Street, and TheatreSquared. Drama League Fellowship, Lincoln Center Directors Lab, Co-Artistic Director of Slant Theatre Project. Education: University of Evansville.

Matt Moses (playwright) Matt’s play The Bedtrick was produced in translation in Santiago, Chile and will be seen in Caracas, Venezuela at the 2014 Festival of Contemporary US Drama. The Emperor of Ice Cream or Thirteen Ways of Looking at Donald Rumsfeld was produced by the Hangar Theater. Daniella Uses Dirty Words was produced by the Abingdon Theater. Matt has an MFA in playwriting from the Yale School of Drama where he won the ASCAP Cole Porter Prize. He performs every Friday night at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater with “The Law Firm.”

Set Designer: Daniel Zimmerman; Costume Designer: Lisa Loen; Lighting Designer: Driscoll Otto; Sound Designer: Josh Millican.

Tickets are $18 and can be purchased by visiting Here.org or by calling 212-352-3101.

Performances are Tuesday-Saturday at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm, with additional performances Sunday, May 18th at 7pm and Saturday, May 31st at 2pm. There is no performance on Sunday, May 25th.

HERE is located at 145 Sixth Avenue, New York, NY 10003.
