Thanks Guilaume. I never said the actors were working for free, however; I asked if anyone wanted them to volunteer going forward so they could have a cheaper ticket. Sorry of that wasn't clear.

From a once thriving commercial Off-Broadway scene that included the Variety Arts, Promenade, and Lucille Lortel theaters, remaining off-Broadway commercial houses include the Minetta Lane, New World Stages, Westside Arts, and Union Square. Of these, the Minetta Lane is usually dark.

These are quite different from subscription-based institutions like MCC, Second Stage, NYTF, Signature, Primary Stages, Vineyard, or the Public Theater that have lower pay scales by Equity rules. They are structurally regional theaters that happen to be physically located in Manhattan.
