Should mothers & sons been two acts

I just watched Andre's mother. I wish I had seen it before the play. Who hugs who and the blame game make much more sense in the play now. I almost wish they did Andre's mother for the first act and the current play as the second act Maybe the roundabout revival in 2024 will do both in one evening. Or maybe regional productions could do both.
