Life is an emotional journey! For award-winning singer/actress Vickie Phillips, it is a musical journey as well. Join her as she celebrates her birthday with her three songwriting heroes.

With the internationally acclaimed songs of Jacques Brel, Kurt Weill, and Charles Aznavour, Vickie creates miniature portraits of the wonderful life we all share. Through the words and music of these masters, Vickie tells us of the journey she is still on, and her deepest personal dreams. This show captures the charm, the intimacy, the tragedy, and the magic of life's great odyssey.

Vickie Phillips, winner of the 2014 Bistro Award for Song Interpretation, continues to be a familiar face on the Manhattan cabaret scene, as an award-winning singer and actress. This is the second time that this prestigious group has honored her with a Bistro entertainment award. She has been praised by the New York Times as "a performer who creates her own viable interpretation." Her off-Broadway credits include leading roles in Merry-Go-Round, A Safe Light, Far Side of the Moon, Musically Speaking, and Together with Music.

She performed to standing-room-only audiences in concerts at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Her very first cabaret show received the New York Back Stage Bistro Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Cabaret." Ms. Phillips went on to be nominated for a MAC Award for her concept and performance in the musical revue American Cabaret: European Roots.

Creating her role in the original Bob Ost cabaret revue Love and Laughter, she garnered praise from reviewers in Back Stage, Variety and the New York Post. Her show A Musical Journey: The Songs Of Brel, Weill, Aznavour & Blau, played the Queen's Theater on the Park, at Mama's, The Creative Place Theater, and the 78th Street Theater Lab. She has also gained raves at the Midtown International Festival.

"I've heard many fine renditions of 'Marieke,' but Vickie's is the best and most moving of them all. To be sure, other singers have touched me, but her interpretation is the only one to move me to tears." — Roy Sander, BistroAwards.com

"There's something about old-timers that makes them special. They know how to deliver a song, they know how to relate to their audience, and they know how to put a show together....Yet, terming it her 'show' doesn't convey it properly. It was as much a soiree with a roomful of invited guests as anything Vickie Phillips would have had in a spacious Park Avenue residence....she internalized her songs and her renditions displayed the emotions — sometimes funny, sometimes sad — with palpable involvement....Phillips filled the evening with mirth, affection, emotion and some songs to relish. Who could ask for more?" — Peter Leavy, Cabaret Scenes

"I saw Vickie Phillips' current show the other night and had an absolutely wonderful time. Vickie's personality, skill, experience, and choice of material adds up to a richly entertaining experience." — Sheldon Harnick (Tony Award winner, Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me, Fiorello)

"Phillips sails through with love, strength, intelligence, and commitment to her art. It is evident that she performs for the love of it, and will continue to do so. We could all learn a few lessons from her." — Kevin Scott Hall, Bistro Awards

"Vickie Phillips is a Hope Diamond in the world of cabaret singers. Every facet of her voice and show fits together into one incredibly entertaining and moving whole. I didn't want her to stop singing!" — Ward Morehouse III, Black Tie Magazine, Healthylife.net and Broadway After Dark TV on Time Warner Channel 56 Mondays at 7:00 PM

"It's a clear reason why Ms. Phillips is a staple in the Cabaret scene....Ms Phillips knows how to sell a song and warm over her audience. She is a comedian who knows just the right placement on a lyric and how to tell a story." — Suzanna Bowling, Times Square Chronicles
