i think brecht would have been delighted with your response. not because of what's coming off as a cheap shock (i haven't seen this production) and i will apologize in advance if i come off as blaming you singlehandedly for the state of our national contemporary morality, i promise i'm not trying to do that. i just can't help but think that a staging that brought into high relief america being ok with the dehumanization and rape and murder and cruelty the work deals in but has a puritanical revulsion to nudity and a body fluid - especially semen - no, that is just unacceptable, that is going too far! - would delight him. i think he would find that an unmitigated success.
