BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star
Broadway Producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) and BroadwaySpotted announce BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star! 10 finalists will be selected via online vote to be featured in a live contest and will vie for the title of ‘Next Big Star’ as chosen by a panel of industry professionals and the audience. Sheri Sanders (Rock the Audition) will host the live contest. The grand prize winner will receive a prize package valued at over $1,000 (including $500 cash).
Entry rules are as follows:
· One entry per person, and one finalist vote per email address
· Must be at least 16 years old at the time of the live contest (May 22nd)
· Submissions must be a 1-2 minute song of your choice
· The title of the YouTube video must include the name of the contest (BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star) and the contestants first and last name and the description of the video must include a link to the online voting page.
· The final competition will include a live presentation by the top 5 guys and top 5 girls in NYC on Thursday, May 22nd in front of a panel of industry professionals and a live audience.
The Grand Prize Winner will receive:
· A work session with a Broadway Casting Director
· $500
· A spot in Ken Davenport's "How to Nail Your Audition Workshop"
· An autographed copy of Rock the Audition by Sheri Sanders
· A 30 minute headshot photoshoot with an NYC photographer
· 2 free hours in a rehearsal space at The Davenport Studios in Midtown Manhattan

Ken Davenport is a Broadway producer whose credits include Mothers and Sons, The Bridges of Madison County, Macbeth, Kinky Boots (Tony Award), Godspell,Chinglish, Oleanna starring Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles, Speed-the-Plow, Will Ferrell's You're Welcome America, Blithe Spirit starring Angela Lansbury, and 13, as well as Altar Boyz, My First Time, The Awesome 80s Prom, and Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage Off-Broadway. He also produced the award winning These Magnificent Miles: On the Long Road with Red Wanting Blue, a documentary on one of the top unsigned rock bands in the country. Ken was featured on a national commercial for Apple's iPhone, named one of Crain's “40 Under Forty” and is one of the co-organizers of TEDxBroadway. Combined, Ken's productions have grossed more than $100 million worldwide and are being produced internationally in over 25 countries including Germany, Mexico, France and Korea. He created and developed the Broadway board game Be A Broadway Star, as seen on “The Today Show,” and a smartphone app called AT THE BOOTH™, which has been featured on Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List” and called “Ingenious!
