JOURNEY'S END in Sacramento

Posted by: LynnO 03:48 pm EDT 06/16/14

Saw California Stage's excellent production of JOURNEY'S END yesterday. It's a show about a British Army company during World War I, and takes place entirely in a bunker. The theatre itself is a narrow, low-ceiling three-row 50-seat theatre, so you feel like you are a fly on the wall for the whole play. The acting was absolutely top-notch, including the British accents. The uniforms and gear seemed accurate as well. I'm still thinking about this play today, I think it will affect me for some time to come. I can highly recommend it to folks who are interested in this powerful theatre piece, the show is running weekends through July 6th.
