I haven't seen the production at the Dragon, so take these comments for whatever their worth. I do think that the nudity is essential. Maybe it doesn't need as much nudity as was in the original (it seemed like David Eigenberg was naked for around the first 15-20 minutes of the play, although I'm sure it was less than that). But I think that locker room shower scene is absolutely essential, and how do you do a shower scene without nudity? I don't think that modesty panels are the answer. And, well, it seems like jock straps would've been a much better option than dance belts. I hope I don't get in trouble for saying this, but I do know that the director/producer had planned on doing the play with all the nudity, but met with resistance from the theater. Given the size of the space and the proximity of the first row to the actors, that's understandable.
