Saw the matinee yesterday. I'm that rare person who went in totally oblivious to the source material and therefore had a different experience. This totally worked for me, although I thought some of the lyrics were hit or miss. As much as I loved Rivera, I thought it was Rees' show, but I guess it's good that they're both strong enough that opinion could tip the balance either way. GORGEOUS set and lighting design. Kept it surreal. I'm really glad I got to see it.
