I'm not quite sure how far back you want to go in time. Some of the recommendations below are not what I would call new.

Several that I like a lot are mentioned below, such as Sons, of the Prophet, A Perfect Ganesh and The Language Archive.

Here are few others to possibly consider, although I'm going back as far as 20 years or so since some of the recommendations made below go back that far (and even farther in one or two cases).

Blood and Gifts by J. T. Rogers
Everett Beekin by Richard Greenburg
Blue Surge by Rebecca Gilman
36 Views by Naomia Iizuka
The Skriker by Caryl Churchill (or do you want only American plays?)
Tribes by Nina Raine (again, not American)
The Lights by Howard Korder
The Play About the Baby by Edward Albee
Small Tragedy by Craig Lucas
Play Yourself by Harry Kondoleon
Saved or Destroyed by Harry Kondoleon
