Do shows like GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE play differently as hits?

Posted by: dreambaby 11:08 pm EDT 08/04/14

GENTLEMAN'S GUIDES played many months of performances as critically respected, but underwhelming at the box office. Since its Tony win as Best Musical, and subsequent jump in grosses and attendance, does the show itself play differently before audiences approaching it as an annointed hit?
