Is there an explanation for this "New York premiere" claim?

Is this a revised version? Or are they simply using the fact that production that played (to very favorable reviews) at Walkerspace in 2003 was Off-Off Broadway to justify the claim that this will be the New York premiere?

This sort of marketing is rarely "accurate." The ballsiest was the marketing for Buried Child claiming it was Sam Shepard's first Broadway production...assuming everyone forgot Operation Sidewinder and his contribution to Oh Calcutta...

Forgot about that one. It is true in the Shepard case that the American Theatre Wing did not consider productions of the Repertory Theatre of Lincoln Center eligible for the Tonys, and Theatre World always relegated the productions to a separate section, as they did with most companies and theatres that were nonprofit. Both choices seem rather silly.

I can understand overlooking Shepard's contribution to Oh, Calcutta.

They're hoping no one will notice. It seems the theatre equivalent of white-man-ism. We were here first because we say we were.

It does seem that way. Perhaps they think that since that Alter Ego production was not reviewed in the Times and the Times is the "paper of record," it didn't actually happen.

Alan, why don't you write the Roundabout and see how they respond(if they do)? Seriously.
