This sort of marketing is rarely "accurate." The ballsiest was the marketing for Buried Child claiming it was Sam Shepard's first Broadway production...assuming everyone forgot Operation Sidewinder and his contribution to Oh Calcutta...

Forgot about that one. It is true in the Shepard case that the American Theatre Wing did not consider productions of the Repertory Theatre of Lincoln Center eligible for the Tonys, and Theatre World always relegated the productions to a separate section, as they did with most companies and theatres that were nonprofit. Both choices seem rather silly.

I can understand overlooking Shepard's contribution to Oh, Calcutta.
