Patti Lupone or Jan Maxwell, might be okay in the role, but they're not the ones who have won consistent critical acclaim and at least one award for play Claire. Claire is a broken woman....I don't know that strong singer is what is needed in the role. Rivera's performance is a major, major part of The Visit.
