| Most of the names mentioned below don't sell tickets. If the producers move ahead, I think they need someone with a little extra "oomph" above the title. It should be noted that Corden was never actually confirmed to be doing the show. As far as I know, it was only rumored. So maybe the producers have someone up their sleeve...? Jack Black was mentioned below -- I actually think that's intriguing and fun. More mainstream, would Jason Alexander finally return to Broadway for a role like this? I think Jason Segel could be wonderful in this role. And Jonah Hill would be another somewhat less obvious choice that could surprise people. But I suspect the latter two are too busy with film work. Maybe a notch down on the "star" factor, but also interesting to me -- what about Patton Oswalt? | |

| Corden would never have sold enough tickets on his name... he is known primarily to those who saw him in One Man Two Guvnors, maybe some Tony viewers who didn't see the show also, and those who know his work in England. Not a big group to sell a big musical on. I assume they were going off his radiant talent and the popular and well known name of the very successful title. I feel like the producers want someone younger and more exciting than Jason Alexander. | |

| Corden was the reason they were doing. I think they will postpone. | |

| Ha, no. I just think he's pretty ideally suited for it. He can sing. He's great live. He's very very funny. He does lots of characters. He can roll with the punches. I think he'd bring a lot to it and not take too much from it, like some other modern performers with names might. I doubt he's big enough as a name yet to headline the revival... but more people know him by far than know Corden, even though he has a Tony for Best Actor. | |

| Bobby Moynihan did musical theater growing up and in college at the University of Conencticut. I know somewhere along the line he's been in productions of "My Fair Lady" and "Hair." He sings and dances (notice that whenever there is some singing and/or dancing to be done on a sketch on SNL, he and Taran Killam are always pressed into service--because they can). I read in an interview that part of his initial SNL audition was a tap dance routine. I think he would be an excellent (not to mention unexpected) choice. | |

| I've seen Bobby Moynihan do improv with the Upright Citizen's Brigade, and he's terrific on stage. He's certainly got the comedic range for Pseudolus. I also loved Christopher Fitzgerald's Pseudolus at the Williamstown Theater Festival, but maybe he's not a big enough name. | |

| Of course he'd have to leave SNL in order to do it. Maybe he'd be willing... he's been a cast member since 2008. But clearly, there's no way to do a Broadway show and be on SNL at the same time. | |

| Yeah, Butz would be good. I would really like to see Geoffrey Rush however and I also think Martin Short would be good and might be a decent box office draw. | |

| I wouldn't have thought of Martin Short, and my first thought was, "Isn't he a bit more of a Hysterium?" But as I thought more, I thought, yeah, you're right. He could be a fantastic Pseudolus. | |

| I haven't seen him, but he won the Tony, and he's sized like Mostel, and his dark skin will add resonance because of the American context for slavery (Pseudolus is, foremost, a slave seeking freedom): Aladdin's Genie! | |
