Ha, no. I just think he's pretty ideally suited for it. He can sing. He's great live. He's very very funny. He does lots of characters. He can roll with the punches. I think he'd bring a lot to it and not take too much from it, like some other modern performers with names might.

I doubt he's big enough as a name yet to headline the revival... but more people know him by far than know Corden, even though he has a Tony for Best Actor.

Bobby Moynihan is an inspired choice

Bobby Moynihan did musical theater growing up and in college at the University of Conencticut. I know somewhere along the line he's been in productions of "My Fair Lady" and "Hair." He sings and dances (notice that whenever there is some singing and/or dancing to be done on a sketch on SNL, he and Taran Killam are always pressed into service--because they can). I read in an interview that part of his initial SNL audition was a tap dance routine. I think he would be an excellent (not to mention unexpected) choice.

I've seen Bobby Moynihan do improv with the Upright Citizen's Brigade, and he's terrific on stage. He's certainly got the comedic range for Pseudolus.

I also loved Christopher Fitzgerald's Pseudolus at the Williamstown Theater Festival, but maybe he's not a big enough name.

Of course he'd have to leave SNL in order to do it. Maybe he'd be willing... he's been a cast member since 2008. But clearly, there's no way to do a Broadway show and be on SNL at the same time.

I think that's a wonderful choice.
