since we are importing stars from "Girls" to play the Mary Martin role (how many times have we seen "Marnie" humping away on top of someone?), the project is ruined

What? It's the Mary Martin role? That actress who slutted around in Leave It To Me" singing about the joys of oral sex in "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" (c'mon, we all know what she meant by dining on her fine Finnan Haddie). Oh, and she played Venus in One Touch of Venus, that lascivious old whore who stepped out on her husband with Mars, and Adonis, and Eddie, the guy in the show.

I won't watch anything that skank was associated with, so clearly Peter Pan's been ruined for a long, long time already.

In your eagerness to be as flip as possible, you managed to rename the love interest in the show. Martin's hapless paramour was named Rodney. It was Ava Gardner who played the lascivious old whore to Robert Walker's renamed "Eddie" in the film. (But you said "the guy in the show," so there's no mistaking the mistake, lol.)

Oops--grabbed the name from an IMDB film plot summary. Got me!

(My Mom's always saying I'm too sarcastic--I vastly prefer 'flip,' so thanks!)

Leah Dunham's been having a lot of fun taking the Marnie character, who has classic good looks, and humiliating her (case in point: pulling out the iPod and singing a song as a 'present' at the party for the tech start-up genius who dumped her.) It is a testament to the acting of the actress who plays the part that a lot of the scenes she played on 'Girls' leave an indelible impression that make it hard to accept her as the plucky boy who sings 'I gotta crow!' 'I gotta grind, maybe, but I gotta crow, that's a stretch. Anyway, have fun watching this special. I don't intend to.
