I loved the stage show. The film was pretty faithful to the show in many respects and the cinematography was beautiful. Dolly was ideally cast and stole the film. Charles Durning also was well cast. Burt was okay but Dom Deluise didn't quite work for me. The one aspect of the show that was cut was the subplot featuring to new girls working at the house - Angel and Shy. They were originally in the film version before it was cut down, though their roles were samller. Dolly sang a new song "A Gamble Either Way" which replaced "Girl You're a Woman" - but on stage the girls were the heart of the show.
