I don't think any of the NYC NFP theatre companies are L3C's (has NY even legislated the L3C?).
Therefore you would not be "investing" in a NFP production of "The Visit', you would be making a donation to a 501©3.
That is about all I can say on this forum. However, if you have the resources to invest or donate and you are a qualified investor then you probably should have a tax advisor. Ask the advisor.
