Just found this trailer for this new movie musical. Is it my imagination, or does this look absolutely terrible?

Wow, this looks really promising to me. A movie musical that is unaplogetically a movie musical. No labored 'concepts', no hiding that it's a musical, no painful stunt casting, no re-writing the songs to make them more 'contemporary' - just a good old fashioned musical. I'm looking forward to it!

I like Jason Alexander a lot. I've interacted with him on many occasions during his various charity work and he's been nothing but kind, easygoing and immensely likable.

That said, his post-Seinfeld work has been pretty bad. I really disliked his work in The Producers and his performances in several television roles have not been good. I like him so much that I stopped reading articles about Reprise because it made me sad to see his on-stage and off-stage work criticized so greatly. Although I think he got decent reviews for They're Playing Our Song. He is usually a bad sign for a project. Again, I do like him, and I'm even holding out hope that he still brings Once on This Island to the big screen because he may be its only chance but...

Looks like they've simply kept the zany over the top feel of the stage show.

I think it'll be fun. Love the show. Jason Alexander will likely walk away with the film.
