It looks about as uneven - partly charming, partly forced - as the original stage musical. The romantic storyline looks charming, the humor looks overly broad and labored, which is how I feel about the stage show.

I appreciate that Nikki M. James is playing the female lead. That makes me somewhat excited for this.
