Apollo is declared the victor while Rocky & Adrian embrace/kiss. Apollo's victory plays in the background (hand raise by the ref), while the happy couple is front & center. As a pre-teen when the movie was released, I don't think I even realized who officially won until the 3rd or 4th time I saw the film. Yes, I saw it numerous (perhaps 9, 10) times in its theatrical release.
