Newer shows that do not depend as much on a written book and are mostly sung through appeal to tourists who speak little or no English. They are easier to follow (I guess like we in the US follow Italian Opera)

Plus there's the WOW of the sets and effects ("Fiddler on the Roof" had no effect)

Are tourists really going to see "Phantom" or the chandelier?
