ComicCon itself is a madhouse. Take it from someone who's been attending since before Hollywood discovered it. That panel sounds fairly typical for a Hall H (where they put the biggest events; folks often wait overnight to get in) panel.

My favorite SDCC story this year was that Daniel Radcliffe, promoting his horror film, THE HORN, wandered about the teeming crowds (130,000) completely incognito in a Spider-Man suit. Just don't tell Bono. Or the guys in Times Square and on Hollywood Blvd.

I can vouch for the power of the Cumberbitches. The only time my local AMC sold out its NT Live screening was for his FRANKENSTEIN.
