In terms of the stage vs. film scripts, and the songs, I think the film is superior. (Casting, no.)

I think "Just Leave Everything To Me" is a better song than "I Put My Hand In."

And of course there was no love ballad for Channing, and rightly so.

The song Streisand sings in the movie, "Love Is Only Love," is nice, but rather downbeat since it's about resignation.

As far as I know there was never a ballad in the stage show for Dolly until The Merm stepped in and they put in two songs for her: a ballad called "Love, Look In My Window" and "World, Take Me Back." I don't know where they fit into the show, so if anyone knows, please tell us.
