Agree Richard. I met him for the first time when he turned up as an unannounced guest at the Castro Theater fundraiser for the movie version of The Celluloid Closet. (Harvey, Lily, and Lypsinka were the headliners.)

My favorite memory of him was leaving Jardiniere one evening, a well groomed man was bellowing at the (dressed in a hoodie) parking valet: "Where the *&#$!%!! is my CAR???"
The valet was profusely apologetic. When another valet dashed up and looked at the hoodie valet quizzically, the hoodie valet took off his jacket and it was Mr. Williams.

I don't use genius very often. But Robin Williams qualifies.
