I saw a Tuesday evening performance three weeks ago, and Eva Noblezada was Kim. I, too, was hoping I would get to see her, and she does indeed have an incredible voice, but her acting talents seemed limited to me, lacking in emotion. It's an incredible production with many fine performances, especially Jon Jon Briones as the Engineer, who is simply brilliant in a performance that I think would win him a Tony a New York. He is appropriately slimy and sleazy, though quite likeable at times. Kwang-Ho Hang as Thuy, the officer who, besides Chris, is in love with Kim, has a magnificent voice and is a major star in his native Korea. I felt he and Briones were the standouts in a generally fine cast. The helicopter sequence is far more effective in this version.

Standing ovations aren't quite as common in London as in the U.S., but Miss Saigon had the longest one I think I've ever seen anywhere. At one point, after rounds and rounds of applause, the audience started a rhythmic clapping. The cast kept coming forward, bowing and moving back, only to repeat this several more times. I think you will have a great time, even if someone else is on as Kim.
