He can sing. I don't know his real range or the power of his voice but I believe he sings better than Johnny Depp, and he actually would be very easy to make look like the real Leo Frank. And it would certainly be easy enough to sweeten his voice in post if it needed it. Most importantly he's a big star, who fits the part, and loves musicals. T.R. Knight, who I was only moderately impressed with, isn't even a star (he and his reps have not parlayed Grey's Anatomy into much of a career for him), and certainly not when it comes to getting a movie made or distributed.
