I've always thought it out of place in HELLO, DOLLY! for two reasons. The first is that the arrangment and performance are very "pop" that sounds very Streisand, but not so much Dolly. The second is that the relationship between Mrs. Levi and Mr. Vandergelder doesn't really have much to do with love. They'll be good for each other because they complement each other...he needs someone to run his life (her expertise)and she needs someone to pay the bills (his expertise).
