But I do think that's the character. I did feel he was connected to the play, and the plays wants (or at least accepts) that approach.

Still, it's true that whether he really could have connected with other actors onstage in the way that he would have needed to do in most of the roles I mentioned is uncertain. I didn't see him in that Waiting for Godot.
